In the exploration of science concepts, the child is encouraged to ask questions and seek answers.  In this way, Lakewood Montessori teachers foster a deep respect and love for nature. Botany and zoology are an important part of the environment.  Each classroom at Lakewood Montessori has pets and plants for the child to care for and observe. 

In addition, other science concepts are learned through simple experiments and hands-on materials, which encourage curiosity and questioning.
